In addition to hearing from broad perspectives, we will examine, learn, and summarize existing evidence on questions relevant to career and college readiness. 

July 15, 2026 — The Board of Regents had a discussion item titled "The History and Role of A-G in UC Admissions" (pdf). At its July meeting, the Board’s Academic and Student Affairs Committee began a year-long effort to deepen the Regents’ knowledge and understanding of college and career readiness in an ever-shifting 21st century. The discussion examined the history and purpose of UC’s A-G subject requirements. No action was taken or proposed at the July meeting.
