Regent-designate Jessica Lum

Jessica Lum graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Economics.
Since graduating from UC Santa Cruz, Jessica has built a career in external affairs, serving mission-driven organizations, non-profit trade associations, and government. She is currently a regional engagement officer in the public sector, listening and learning from business leaders to better understand economic conditions in the Bay Area to help inform policy.
Jessica has served on the UC Santa Cruz Alumni Council since 2022, where she has held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Administration and Co-Chair of the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund Committee. She was also the Chair for Friends of San Francisco Environment and Vice President for Walk San Francisco. Jessica has served on numerous boards, and committees supporting workforce and professional development for the City College of San Francisco, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and the City and County of San Francisco, among others. Through this extensive service, she has developed a strong understanding of stakeholder engagement, consensus building, and board leadership.
Jessica hopes to bring her experience in public service, community engagement, and nonprofit governance in service to the Alumni Association and the University of California. She describes her time at UC Santa Cruz as transformative and unforgettable and is committed to fostering meaningful alumni engagement and inspiring graduates to remain connected to and invested in the university community.
