Dorene Dominguez

Dorene C. Dominguez is Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of Vanir, a leading program, project, and construction management and real estate development firm. Since assuming leadership in 2004, she has continued the legacy of her father, H. Frank Dominguez, who founded the company in 1964, and has successfully positioned Vanir as the nation’s premier Hispanic- and woman-owned firm in its field. Under her leadership, Vanir has delivered more than $30.8 billion in value to clients across the United States.

In addition to her role at Vanir, Ms. Dominguez serves on several corporate and nonprofit boards and councils. She is a board member of KB Home, where she serves on the Audit, Nominating, and Corporate Governance Committee, and of Douglas Emmett, Inc., where she serves on the Audit and Nominating and Governance Committees. She is also a member of the Aspen Conexión Advisory Council, the American Mexican Leadership Council, and serves as Chairwoman of the Dominguez Dream Academy.

A dedicated community leader and advocate for educational equity, Ms. Dominguez founded the Dominguez Dream Academy in 2004 in memory of her father. The nonprofit organization supports underserved students through programs focused on literacy, STEAM education, social-emotional learning, and family engagement.

Ms. Dominguez is also part of the ownership group that acquired the Sacramento Kings in 2013, becoming the first Latina to hold NBA governor status.

She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and holds a Certificate in Corporate Governance from Harvard University.

She was appointed as a Regent in March 2026 by Governor Newsom to a term expiring in 2037.
