February 2022 Regents Meeting Information

The world continues to face an extremely serious public health threat related to COVID-19 (coronavirus). Declarations of Emergency have been issued by federal, state and local officials, and public health officials continue to mandate certain restrictions related to in-person gatherings. The University of California provides essential services to the People of California and continues to operate. As we manage through this crisis, important business remains to be done and matters require action so that our community can continue to plan. In all events, the University of California holds as its highest priority the health, safety and well-being of its students, faculty, staff, visitors, and all other members of it communities.

The Regents and its Committees will meet on February 16 & 17, 2022 at UCLA and by teleconference, in compliance with UCLA's Guidance for Visitors to UCLA Facilities and subject to the additional conditions listed below. In accordance with California Government Code §§ 11133 regarding the COVID-19 public health emergency, some members of the Board will participate via Zoom.

The public will have a full opportunity to observe the meeting and to make public comment, as follows:

  • Members of the public are strongly encouraged to watch the meeting via livestream through the Regents website.
  • Members of the public who wish to offer public comment by phone or in person may do so by providing their name and phone number to publiccomment@ucop.edu by 5:00 p.m. the day before the public comment period. The Secretary and Chief of Staff will call the number provided if and when your name is called from the list. All individuals who request to address the Regents will be added to the speakers list. Efforts will be made to accommodate each individual who has signed up to speak. Given time constraints, there is no guarantee that all who have signed up will be able to address the Regents.
  • Written comments received addressing items on the agenda can be sent to the Office of the Secretary and Chief of Staff (regentsoffice@ucop.edu) no less than forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the scheduled start time of the meeting. To the extent possible, written comments will be distributed to members of the Board, or its appropriate committee, prior to the beginning of the Committee meeting.
  • To maintain social distancing, very limited seating will be available for the public. Any member of the public who wishes to attend in person, must adhere to the following requirements:
    • All attendees must complete a symptom screening questionnaire and take a rapid antigen COVID-19 test provided by UC at the meeting site each day prior to entry. Please arrive early to allow for sufficient time to take the test and get results (approximately 30 minutes). To register for the test, use a computer and/or mobile device to access the daily screener questionnaire. Guests should be prepared to show a copy of the completed digital registration upon arrival at the meeting site. If a guest is unable to register for the test prior to arrival, there will be staff available to assist.
    •
    • All attendees must wear a mask at all times while in the facility.
  • Please note that since seating is very limited, entry is not guaranteed, even if a member of the public complies with all of the requirements above.
    • The meeting will be livestreamed and archived on the Regents' website so that the meeting is accessible to all members of the public.
    • If public seating has reached capacity, there will be an overflow room in an adjacent building where the livestream of the Regents meeting can be viewed.
    • If you sign up for public comment but were not admitted to the meeting room, you will be added to the list of those wishing to provide comment by telephone.
  • The University of California adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you need reasonable accommodation, please contact the Secretary and Chief of Staff's Office by email at regentsoffice@ucop.edu or by phone at (510) 987-9220 in advance of the meeting.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation to ensure a safe environment for the meeting.
